About the event

In this three-hour workshop, you will generate new writing in response to creative writing prompts. Writing will be interspersed with walking, feeding, and watching real live goats. You can interact with chickens and dogs too if you wish.

By the end of the three-hour workshop, you will generate enough new material to create an essay, a chapter for your novel, a poem, a short story, a great Facebook post, or at the very least, a tweet.

Meghan Hanawalt will be on hand to answer questions about goats and what it’s like to be a goat herder.

Kit Irwin will guide the group through writing prompts. Her fiction has appeared in magazines, such as The Kenyon Review, and in anthologies, such as Flash Fiction Forward. Kit earned a masters in Critical and Creative Thinking from UMass Boston.

The four Nigerian dwarf goats are Mac and Ivy, who are three years old, and the twins Thelma and Louie, who are one year old.

There will be chickens and friendly dogs as well.

Register by August 1 to receive as a bonus: a writing journal.

If you cancel by August 1, you will receive your money back less a ten dollar cancellation fee. After August 1, the cancellation fee is $25.

If there is an emergency and we need to cancel the event, your money will be returned in full.

Read an article about walking with the goats in the Cape Cod Times.
